We had a great time today working on our Prairie Flower quilt. Continue to get your blocks ready for hand applique, put them in a small container and take it with you where ever you go. You will be surprised at how your attitude changes about having to wait for appointments or what ever. You might even find yourself getting annoyed when "they" call for you or when your children's practice is over. :)
May 22 will be the class for the flag quilt.
~Collect 7 different reds, 6 different whites or light tans. These will make up the stripes of the flag. Cut each into 2" by 44" strips. You will probably be able to make two quilts out of this amount of fabric. (Make one for yourself and give one as a gift. I have made around seven of these and can't seem to keep one in the house! Maybe this time?)
~For the star field; collect blue, white (light tan), gold, and red. Large scraps or fat quarters are a good size.
~You will also need sashing, red or blue, 2-1 1/2"x44" strips. Border, red or blue, 2-4 1/2"x44" strips. Backing, 1 yard, and thin batting, 1 yard. (Double amounts of sashing, borders, backing and batting if making two flags)
I will work at making a sample and post it so you will see a finished product.
